Burj Azizi: The World’s Second Tallest Tower to Stand 103m Shorter Than Dubai’s Burj Khalifa

Azizi Developments has officially unveiled the height of its upcoming architectural marvel, Burj Azizi. Located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, the skyscraper will soar to a height of 725 meters, positioning it as the second tallest building globally after the 828-meter Burj Khalifa.

Currently, the second tallest tower in the world is Kuala Lumpur’s Merdeka 118, which stands at 679 meters.

Valued at $1.5 billion (AED 3.67 billion), Burj Azizi is slated for completion by 2028. Sales for the 131+ storey structure are set to launch in February 2025. The tower will feature a seven-star hotel inspired by seven cultural themes, alongside luxurious penthouses, apartments, and holiday homes. Amenities include wellness centers, swimming pools, saunas, cinemas, gyms, mini markets, resident lounges, and a children’s play area.

As the only freehold property on Sheikh Zayed Road, Burj Azizi will also house a seven-floor vertical retail center, a luxury ballroom, a beach club, and an observation deck. Highlights of the tower include a hotel lobby on the 11th floor, a restaurant on the 122nd floor, a hotel room on the 118th floor, a nightclub on the 126th floor, and an observation deck on the 130th floor. It will also feature multiple high-end dining options.

Construction commenced in January 2024. By July, Azizi Developments had signed an agreement with International Foundation Group LLC (IFG) for piling and foundation works, which are currently underway.

“With an investment of over $1.63 billion (AED 6 billion), Burj Azizi is more than just a towering structure — it symbolizes our commitment to transforming Sheikh Zayed Road and redefining Dubai’s skyline,” said Mirwais Azizi, Founder & Chairman of Azizi Developments.

“The tower is a blend of innovative design, cutting-edge technology, and ultra-luxury living. It will boast the world’s highest observation deck, a unique vertical shopping mall, and a wealth of amenities and dining experiences at exceptional elevations. The seven-star hotel, crowned with the world’s highest lobby, will celebrate global cultures through its intricate design,” Azizi added.

He also expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the support extended by Dubai authorities, stating, “This project is not solely about financial returns. My vision for Burj Azizi is to create a legacy, a tribute to Dubai as a global destination, and a monumental achievement in engineering that sets new benchmarks for quality, luxury, and innovation.”
